The insulation sector plays an active role in the development of the country with its employment power of 150 thousand people.
The insulation sector plays an important role in Türkiye's economy with its world-class production infrastructure and high capacity, quality standards, dynamic entrepreneurs and innovative products. The sector, whose size in Türkiye reached 7.5 billion dollars including all services in 2023, continued its growth in 2024, albeit limited. IZODER President Emrullah Eruslu, who made evaluations about the realizations of the insulation sector in 2024, said, “We play an active role in the development of our country by creating direct and indirect employment for approximately 150 thousand people. Again, we see that we have recorded a serious momentum in recent years on the export side, and that important investments have been realized on the way to becoming a regional production center for our sector.”
Emrullah Eruslu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of İZODER-Heat, Water, Sound and Fire Insulators Association, stated that the construction process of new buildings and urban transformation as well as insulation applications in existing buildings constitute the main growth dynamics of the sector: “Increasing public awareness about the role of insulation in energy efficiency and a safe and comfortable life reflects positively on the growth of the sector. The insulation sector reached a size of 7.5 billion dollars in 2023, including all services. Considering the recent slowdown in demand for urban transformation and renovation of existing buildings, it is possible to say that the construction of earthquake housing, which is carried out to meet the need for shelter as a result of earthquakes, continues to be the driving force of the insulation sector in 2024 as it was in 2023.”
Stating that the rising potential of the sector and the increasing interest in insulation applications have increased the investment and employment appetite of the member companies, İZODER President Emrullah Eruslu stated that geopolitical developments as well as the factors affecting the course of the economy in general in 2025 will have an impact on the outlook of the sector.
Emrullah Eruslu pointed out that the developments in the construction sector in 2025 are of great importance for the sector; “Both the acceleration to be experienced in the urban transformation process and the new buildings that will rise depending on demand will contribute to the growth of our sector. The TS 825 revision of the Standard for Thermal Insulation Rules in Buildings, which we expect to enter into force soon, will be one of the most important developments for our country and our sector in 2025. We expect similar projects that encourage insulation in developed countries to be implemented in our country and insulation applications in existing buildings to become widespread.”
