Danfoss, the global leader in industrial technology, has made a significant leap in fortifying its manufacturing presence in North America with the inauguration of new production facilities in Monterrey, Mexico. This expansion not only enhances Danfoss' supply chain resilience but also strategically positions the company closer to its customers across Mexico and the Americas.
Meeting Market Demands with Innovation
The Monterrey Campus, now expanded by an impressive 40,000 square meters, houses new production units dedicated to scroll and reciprocating compressors, sensors, and heat exchangers. This development is a direct response to the burgeoning market trends in energy efficiency in cooling, the electrification of heating, and the refrigerant transition. With these state-of-the-art facilities, Danfoss aims to deliver an estimated annual production capacity of 100,000 compressor units for HVAC applications, 1.6 million pressure sensors, and A2L leak detection sensors designed for flammable refrigerants, thereby doubling the capacity for microchannel heat exchangers.
A Commitment to Excellence and Sustainability
The inauguration event saw the participation of key figures such as Kim Fausing, President and CEO of Danfoss; Jürgen Fischer, President of Danfoss Climate Solutions; and Astrid Mozes, President of Regions at Danfoss. They were joined by G Samuel García Sepúlveda, the Governor of Nuevo León, and other distinguished guests, highlighting the significant economic and industrial impact of this expansion on the region.
Kim Fausing expressed his excitement about the new facilities, emphasizing the strategic importance of Mexico in Danfoss' growth plans. He noted that the expansion would enhance Danfoss' ability to service its customers efficiently, aligning with strong market trends and contributing to the development of energy-efficient technologies.
Adding to the significance of the event, the opening of a new Oxxo convenience store on the Danfoss Campus was also announced. This store is equipped with Danfoss’ advanced food retail technologies, serving as both a functional convenience store and a demonstration site for energy efficiency technologies. Oxxo, the largest convenience store chain in Mexico and Latin America, collaborates closely with Danfoss to implement its energy efficiency program, showcasing the practical application of Danfoss’ solutions.
Strengthening Local Operations
Danfoss' presence in Mexico dates back to 1995, and the company now operates production facilities in Monterrey, Reynosa, and Querétaro, employing a total of 3,200 people. Julio Molinari, Regional President of Danfoss Latin America, highlighted Mexico's significant growth potential for Danfoss, with the new investments bolstering the local HVAC and food chain sectors.
The Monterrey expansion underscores Danfoss’ commitment to innovation, customer service, and sustainability, solidifying its role as a key player in the global industrial landscape. With this strategic move, Danfoss is well-positioned to lead the market in energy-efficient and sustainable solutions, driving forward the next wave of industrial advancements.
