Turkish Construction Material Industrialists' Association (Türkiye İMSAD) has taken an important step within the scope of the “Construction Materials Quality Tracking System” (İMKTS) project, which aims to increase product quality in the construction chemicals sector. With the protocol signed with 14 construction chemicals producer companies, this project was officially announced. The project was introduced at a meeting organised with the participation of sector stakeholders and the press.
Growth Target Based on Trust
Delivering the opening speech of the meeting, Tayfun Küçükoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Türkiye İMSAD, emphasised that the construction materials industry is of critical importance for Türkiye. Küçükoğlu stated that especially the construction chemicals sector has a major role in the development of the materials industry and that the products must comply with the qualifications required for both domestic and export markets. Stating that İMKTS is based on reliability in this direction, Küçükoğlu said that they aim to grow the sector through trust-based relations.
Positive Competition Conditions in the Sector
Ferdi Erdoğan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Türkiye İMSAD, who gave information about the functioning of İMKTS, said that the results of the tests conducted within the scope of the system were shared with the companies and that the companies were given time to correct the non-conforming products. Erdoğan stated that they pioneered the establishment of positive competition conditions in the sector with the permissions obtained from the Competition Authority in this process. Emphasising that the results were shared with the public with a transparent approach, Erdoğan expressed that they hoped that the study would set an example for the entire sector.
Signatories of the IMKTS Protocol
Aragonit, Ardex, Bostik, Baumit, Entegre Harç, Fixa, FoxBau, Kalekim, Koramic, Mapei, Myfix Construction Chemicals, Betek, Saint Gobain Weber and Sika are among the companies that have signed protocols within the scope of the IMKTS project carried out by Türkiye İMSAD.
This project aims to contribute to the growth of the construction chemicals sector both in the domestic and foreign markets with reliable products.
